Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch star, thinks Antony should feel "embarrassed" for inciting the Coventry players, and he acknowledges that he expects Manchester City wins the FA Cup 5-1. When United won the penalty shootout on Sunday, Antony cupping his ears towards the Coventry players drew harsh criticism. Their triumph came following the Red Devils wasted a 3-0 advantage and Coventry's extra-time winner was ruled out by VAR.

Although Antony entered the game off the substitute's bench at Wembley, he was unable to have an impact and did not take a shot throughout United's five penalties.

Throughout his 34 games this season, the Brazilian has only managed to score two goals and make one assist. Antony's weekly salary is around £200,000, more than the combined salary of the Coventry first team on Sunday. Sneijder, a former Real Madrid player, expressed his fury against him by saying he wishes City win the match by a margin of 5-0.

The former Inter Milan superstar spoke to Ziggo Sport as he said, ‘Antony should be absolutely embarrassed for what he did. He should have walked straight off the pitch instead of doing that. I hope Manchester United lose 5-0 in the final.’

Erik Ten Hag defends his team after narrow win in FA Cup semi-final

Erik ten Hag has characterised the response to Manchester United's FA Cup semi-final advancement in his own manner.

The Manchester United manager said, "No. Absolutely not. "You made enough and one the question: 'is it embarrassing?' No, the reaction from you was embarrassing. It is the comments. Top football is about results, we made it to a final and we deserved it not only by this game but also the other games. We lost control for 20 minutes, we also had bad luck, 3-2, 3-3. We were very lucky in the end, clear. Penalties was very good and we made it to the final. It is a huge achievement. Twice, in two years is magnificent. For me as a manager, four cup finals in four years. The comments are a disgrace."
