In the wake of his incredible performance against Brighton, Kevin De Bruyne has disclosed the position he believes Phil Foden to be playing for Manchester City.

Man City defeated Brighton 4-0 to cut the deficit to league leaders Arsenal to just one point. Before Foden scored a brace in order to put his team up three goals before halftime, De Bruyne started the score with an incredible header.

He won a contentious free-kick, and his effort found its way into the net. Then, he took advantage of a Brighton error to get his second and final goal of the game. As the Blues aim for a fourth consecutive Premier League crown, Julian Alvarez grabbed the fourth goal after the hour to seal a significant victory away from home.

Foden currently has 24 goals in all competitions and an outstanding 16 goals in the English Premier League this season. He's had a major impact on his squad and is having the best goal-scoring campaign of his young career.

Speaking following yesterday night's victory, De Bruyne expressed his belief that the star player, who has been playing from the left flank under Pep Guardiola, will ultimately find himself in a central role. It seems Man City has a ready-made De Bruyne replacement in case he decides to depart the Etihad.

Kevin de Bruyne said, "He'll end up central. I saw him from the beginning, it takes a while to get used to a Pep team. Now he's trusted central, and Phil does what he does for seven years already. He's been doing this for years, helped us win titles."

“I enjoy the middle, it's where I want to be” : Phil Foden

The English playmaker said that, "I see myself central. I've moved inside, it's helped massively, playing with the best in the world like Kevin De Bruyne helps. I enjoy the middle, it's where I want to be, I can score a lot of goals and create things. I'm enjoying my football, playing with freedom."
