Manchester United have been struggling with form in the current season. The Red Devils presently sit 6th in the points table with 13 points behind for the European competition for the 2024/25 season. With 5 games remaining in the season, the club will look to finish the campaign on a better note. Erik Ten Hag's side has suffered from consistency and injury issues in the ongoing year. They were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after finishing last in the group stage.

The Dutch coach has been under immense pressure after the horrifying season for the club. He has been criticised for his tactical abilities and problems with the players outside the field. The management has been looking for some changes in the coaching staff, irrespective of whether the manager has requested Sir Jim Ratcliffe to have patience with the first team. The latter is the new investor for the legendary club and is in control of the club's football operations.

However, the administration has decided they will cut 25% of the fees for the 54-year-old manager if the Red Devils fail to qualify for the UCL next season. But the management is also preparing for some player sales and buying some in the upcoming transfer window. The list has been a long one with big footballers included in the list of leaving the club.

Big names to be axed in next season

According to David McDonnell of The Mirror, 11 players might be axed, with up to 12 potentially sold, while six incomings are queuing the interest of Old Trafford's decision-makers. As per the report, Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Antony, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Raphael Varane are the names that are on the selling lists. All the players have not performed as per the expectations of the club.

Sofyan Amrabat and Christian Eriksen might be on the list as well, as both the midfielders are mere shadows of what they used to perform. Anthony Martial's future is already decided as he will leave the club at the end of the season. Jadon Sancho who is on loan to Borussia Dortmund will be brought back to the side along with Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, skipper Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund who will stay. Jarrad Branthwaite, Pedro Neto, and Edmond Tapsoba are the names that are linked with Man U as per the rumours.
