Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. hosted Manchester City in matchday 33 of the English Premier League. The away side coming to the game after the 1-0 win against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. Pep Guardiola's side were placed 3rd in the league table with two matches in hand ahead of the game. The reigning champions started the game as the favourites, with high pressing in the game which led the home side concede three goals in the first 45 minutes. 

The first goal was scored by Kevin de Bruyne as the Belgian met with a free header from the cross of Kyle Walker and broke the deadlock at 17th minute of the game. The Sky Blues pressed higher up the pitch to cancel out Roberto de Zerbi's build up play, and it paid off as Phil Foden scored two goals in 5 minutes to make it 3-0. Julian Alvarez made it four for the away side after a brilliant long ball to Kyle Walker left the Brighton defence open who passed the ball to Argentine for an empty net.

Jason Steele-3

Steele will have a night to forget as he conceded four goals and could not do much of the ones he conceded. 

Joel Veltman-3

The right back had problems as the City players made high pressure down the wings. He struggled marking the wingers of the visitors.

Jan Paul van Hecke-4

The centre back did not have much good time, kept Julian Alvarez silent for some time but could not stop him from scoring the fourth. 

Lewis Dunk-4.5

Dunk had a tough time against the City forwards as he failed to track back and lost positions inside his own half. 

Valentin Barco-5

The Argentine left back was caught of position several times as the failed to track back against Walker with the speed of the English full back and he miscued one pass which led for the third goal. He was good attackingly but failed to deliver the final balls. 

Carlos Baleba-4

The Cameroon midfielder failed to play the role of the defensive midfielder was outshown by the visitors's players. 

Adam Lallana-3

Was merely visible in the game as the veteran winger failed to create any harm for the City defence. 

Jakub Moder-4

Moder did not have the best of times in the midfield as he failed to take the control of a star studded City midfielders. 

Pascal Groß-4.5 

The German was merely seen in the game as he failed to create any kind of danger for the City defence. 

Joao Pedro-6.5

He was good in the second half making some good runs inside the box and created problems for the City defence, but could not score for his side. 

Danny Welbeck-4

The former Manchester United striker did not have good time out in the pitch was well marked by Akanji and Ake for the time he was there in the field.

The keeper was merely tested played a massive part in creating the fourth goal by delivering a long ball from the box to Walker. Made one error while clearing but was relieved as it was not capitalised.  

Kyle Walker-8

The club captain was brilliant attackingly as he assisted two goals for the side and did not have much defensive duty to do. He was brilliant down the wings and created problems with the pace.  

Nathan Ake-7.5

The Centre back was caught out of position sometimes but well recovered the balls and did some crucial interceptions. Made sure no space was given to Pedro and Welback. 

Manuel Akanji-7.5

Solid display at the back line made sure he did not let the absence of Ruben Dias feel for the team showed leadership qualitties as well.

Josko Gvardiol-7.5

The Croatian was excellent with his defensive duties made some brilliant interceptions inside the box. He was involved in the attacking third as well. 

Rodri-7

The Spanish played in a more advancing position and played freely with Kovacic played the most defensive role. He tried making some runs inside the box overall was good. 

Kevin De Bruyne-8.5

The Belgian midfielder opened the scoring for the side and had the control over the game and created the chances for the side as well. 

Mateo Kovacic-8

Controlled the tempo of the game in the middle of the park and made interceptions in the centre half when needed and played a pivotal role in the midfield. 

Bernardo Silva-6.5

Silva started in the left was switching positions with Foden and creating space for the side and making good runs inside the box as well. 

Phil Foden-9.5 

Starclass performance from the English winger as he scored two goals and also with that he completed his 50th goal for the club as well. He despite positioned in the wings came in and played right behind Alvarez. 

Julian Alvarez-8

The Argentine was trying his best to score a goal and he did after getting an empty net, he was brilliant with his movements inside the box.

Grealish came in but could not create much off an impact in the game, was decent in the 20 minutes he got to play.
