Liverpool travelled at Goodison Park, to face Everton on Wednesday. The Reds after being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League won against Fulham in their last Premier League game. The Merseyside derby never disappoints as the away side looked better in the first half but Everton who are 7 points clear of relegation, 'the Toffees' broke the deadlock for the game after Jarrad Branthwaite's header was fumbled by Alisson, ending at the back of the net.

However Jurgen Klopp's side had some great chances but failed to capitalise with Jordan Pickford making big saves. In the second half of the game the Reds looked more eager to score but they failed to open the scoring and the home side made it count from the Dwight McNeil's corner which was met by Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring the second and winning goal of the game.

Everton

Jordan Pickford-9

Pickford was brilliant in the night, as the English international made some strong saves to deny Liverpool to open the scoring in the first half. The shot-stopper was excellent and made some match-winning saves for the whole game to keep a clean sheet in the Merseyside derby. 

Ben Godfrey-6.5

Godfrey was good in his defensive duties, but sometimes had tough times against Luis Diaz and Andy Robertson, however never lost his composure. 

James Tarkowski-8

Tarowski had a brilliant time in the backline despite constant pressure from the Reds as the centre back did not make any kind of fumble inside the box and made some brilliant blocks. 

Jarrad Branthwaite-8

The goal scorer was not only a constant threat at the attacking half of Liverpool's defence, as he broke the deadlock of the game, but he did his defensice duties excellently. 

Vitaliy Mykolenko-5

The left-back was brilliant in the first half as he silenced Mohamed Salah for the whole half. The Ukranian was taken off due to injury at the half time. 

Jack Harrison-7

Harrison had a amazing game on the right hand side created problems for Robertson in the wings and overall good with his defensive duties as well. 

Idrissa Gueye-7.5

Gueye has had a great time in the middle of the park, destroyed the game of Klopp's side in the middle of the park and gave a good support in the attacking half as well. 

James Garner-6.5

The midfielder was good in the game as he closed down in the wings and did not let pass Mac Allister and Jones. 

Dwight McNeil-7.5

The winger was decent on the night created the second goal from the corner after his beautiful delivery was net by Calvert-Lewin meeting at the far post. 

Abdoulaye Doucoure-7.5

The second striker was brilliant in the second half of the game as he shifted in the wings and created chances for the side but the final pass was never met by any player of his side. 

Dominic Calvert-Lewin-9.5

He was constant problem for the two Reds centre back as he pressured them in the game, he was brought down initially but the penalty was not given of him being offside. The English striker made it 2-0 after he scored from a brilliant header.

Onana since coming on was involved in the game and had a good time in the middle of the park and gave support in the attack as well.

The former Manchester United man used all his experiences since coming on from the bench, as he silenced Mo Salah for the second half also making crucial interceptions.

Alisson-3

He was punished in the early stages for brininging down Calvert Lewin, but it was overturned after he was offside, made one brilliant save, but the goal he conceded was not according to his standards, as he fumbled the ball inside his hand and went inside the net. He conceded the second which he could not have done much about. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold-4.5

Arnold had a poor outing in the game as he failed to create any chances for the side and neither he could take any shots towards the Everton goalkeeper. 

Ibrahima Konate-4.5

The French was absolutely sluggish at the back line and the first goal was scored from his touch inside the box ended up Alisson to concede the goal. 

Virgil van Dijk-4.5

Van Dijik had tough time against Calvert-Lewin as he failed to mark him while scored the second and winning goal of the game, tried to help in the attack but could not capitalise on the same as well. 

Andrew Robertson-5.5

Robertson was decent as the Scottish full back did equally good in the back and the attacking half, tried delivering some balls inside the box but it was never met by the Liverpool forwards. 

Curtis Jones-3.5

Jones failed to make any impact in the middle of the park. He failed to control the game in the midfield creating problems for the Everton players. 

Dominik Szoboszlai-4

The Hungarian did not have the best of times in the midfield as he failed to create the final balls inside the box and was thus changed near the hour mark of the game. 

Alexis Mac Allister-4

The Argentine was merely seen in the game as he was not upto his best with and without the ball and failed to try any shots from outside the box. 

Mohamed Salah-5

Salah had another decent game as the Egyptian winger had the chances inside the box but he had one clean strike in the last minute of the game which was denied by Pickford. 

Darwin Nunez-4.5

The Uruguayn have a horrible start to the game as he again failed on the biggest chance for the side and could not score on a 1v1 situation with Pickford. He was never seen in the second half of the game. 

Luis Diaz-6.5

Another brilliant performance from the Colombian winger but he failed to capitalise on the chances and no trickeries worked for the forward at Goodison Park, he tried in the second and his shot ended up hitting the post.

Wataru Endo-4

The Japanese despite coming on as a substitute could not have much impact, as he lost one ball inside his own half which could have made it 3-0 and he also committed a foul just in the edge of the box.

Came near the hour mark of the game could not have much impact in controlling the game and had only one shot which was parried away by the Everton keeper.
