Manchester City travelled to East of London to face Nottingham Forest in a must win the English Premier League game on weekend. The game was end to end as the home side created problems for the defending champions, but could not convert the half chances, with City taking the lead after Kevin de Bruyne's corner was met by Josko Gvardiol, as the Croatian defender broke the deadlock in 32nd minute of the game. The home side started the second half well but they could not have any shots on target, and Erling Haaland after coming on from the bench made it 2-0 for the side.

Nottingham Forest

Matz Sels-4.5

The goalkeeper made a few good saves, denying De Bruyne twice, but should have done better for the first goal. 

Neco Williams-2

Williams was again another player on the day that was forced off due to an injury during the game.

Willy Boly-6.5

He was very impressive in the back line did not let anyone pass him and won all the ariel duels made some vital interceptions in the back of his half. 

Murillo-5

His shot hit the cross bar as it was the only on target shot for the side, he was successful in keeping Julian Alvarez silent for the game. 

Moussa Niakhate-4

The Senegal defender struggled against City's world class attackers and was the merely a spectator during the attacks of the visitors. 

Ola Aina-6.5

He had a good time in the left side, especially defensively because he did not let Jeremy Doku play at all and also had good battles against Bernado Silva. 

Anthony Elanga-5

He was not effective according to his standards made some runs down the right hand side but was caught by Gvardiol or Ake

Danilo-6

Danilo used all his experience in the midfield and controlled all the attacks for the side and did his work well defensively as well.  

Morgan Gibbs-White-5.5

Gibbs-White struggled in a different role as he is an attacking mind of player. The former Wolves player in a deeper midfield role, but after shifted forward he looked much more comfortable. 

Callum Hudson-Odoi-7

The former Chelsea winger had a good time against Walker he created problems with his pace and delivered some good balls inside the box.

Chris Wood-3.5

Wood had the chances to put his side ahead in the game twice but failed on both ocassions otherwise he was seen less in the second half of the game.

Came in as a sub in with less than twenty minutes of the game and could not have much of an impact in the game.

The Argentine after coming on as a sub went in the attack for a few times, creating a chance for Wood in the first half.

The defender came in after the second goal had 15 minutes of the game time and could not have much done with so less time.

Ederson-2 

Ederson was forced off after a collison with Wily Boly in the first half and was not much involved till the time he was present. 

Kyle Walker-4.5

Walker had difficult day competing against Aina and Hudson Odoi. He was dribbled past twice in the first half and provided little in the attacking third throughout the game.

Manuel Akanji-5.5

Was sloppy at the back at times recovered the balls well and he was much more composed with the ball and played out from the defense during the build up of City.

Nathan Ake-6.5

He was rock solid at the back did some crucial interceptions and blocked some shots as well. Overall was not much tested by Wood in the centre of the backline. 

Josko Gvardiol-7.5

Another goal for the Crotian, as he was trying to score desparately from outside the box, but the goal came after De Bruyne's corner was flicked by him from the near post.  

Rodri-7

The Spanish was excellent in the middle of the park controlled the game in the midfield and made some good balls for the wingers. Excellent without the ball as well with his precssion positioning helped to destroy the attacks. 

Jeremy Doku-3.5

Doku was a mere spectator in the first half and could do help in the attacking third despite starting the game was taken off early in the second half. 

Kevin De Bruyne-8

De Bruyne was decent in the game as he could not have much impact till he delivered the assist for the first goal, was lively after Haaland was introduced and assisted him the second as well. 

Bernardo Silva-4.5

The Portuguese was well marked could not have much impact in the wings neither in the No.10 position was off colour in the whole of the game.

Jack Grealish-4.5

Grealish was decent in the game as winger struggled with creating chances and failed to score as well was thus taken off as he struggled with his hamstring as well. 

Julian Alvarez-6

Alvarez played more of a false 9 created chanes for the others while shifting to the wings at times and overall had an average game.

Mateo Kovacic-6.5

Kovacic was brought early on in the second half and since coming on paired well with Rodri and made runs in the attacking third and also did his defensive duties well. 

Erling Haaland-6.5

Came in as a sub and had immediate impact on the game as he scored the insurance goal for the side and looked better since coming on. 

Stefan Ortega-5

Ortega had to come as sub after Ederson was forced off due to an injury. He did well since coming on and was not tested much.
