Real Madrid seem to be the most probable next move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. Florian Wirtz, 21, has already played 148 matches for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 41 goals and providing 49 assists, placing him on the watch list of all of Europe's elite clubs.

According to a report in the Wednesday issue of Sport Bild, Real Madrid presently has the best opportunity of signing the youngster. Wirtz is not likely to make the switch this summer, however a shift in 2025 appears possible. The 21-year-old may then replace Toni Kroos, whose contract Real Madrid is hoping to extend by another year.

Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Arsenal have all been named as strong bidders. Last month, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro stated that the club would consider selling Wirtz if offered €150 million. However, he later reversed his decision and stated that the child was not for sale.

It has also been rumoured that Real Madrid has assigned one of the club's most prominent scouts, Felipe Martin, who previously spotted Jude Bellingham, to study Wirtz in every game from the stands. The Spanish capital team only makes such a move when the club is exceptionally serious towards signing a player, implying that Wirtz is a significant target in the club's future plans.

Bayer Leverkusen face massive task to retain star defender

According to reports, Bayer Leverkusen will want to retain Piero Hincapie during the summer. The Ecuador international is considered as one of Europe's best defensive talents, and the 22-year-old has reclaimed his position in Xabi Alonso's squad in the second part of the season after fighting for minutes early on.

Pierre Hincapie's exploits and potential have understandably piqued the interest of other teams, with Liverpool having been associated to the versatile defender on and off for nearly a year. The Reds have been hunting for a left-footed, youthful centre-back since last summer, and Hincapie seems the perfect fit.
