AC Milan faced Inter Milan in the all important Serie A, Milan derby on Monday, at the San Siro. Inter were 14 points ahead coming to the game and the game started with end to end football for both the games with both teams having chances in the early stages as they committed lot of numbers in the attacking third of their oppositions. But Inter struck in the 18th minute of the game as AC Milan's former defender Francesco Acrebi breaking the deadlock by an open header after it was flicked by Benjamin Pavard from the corner.

However both teams had chances with the away side had the better chance with Lautaro Martinez missing from the blank range and AC Milan was denied to score by Yann Sommer who dived into the left to block a strong shot of Davide Calabria. Inter scored the second right in the starting five minutes of the second half as Thuram scored from outside the box. AC Milan despite pulling one back with Fikayo Tomori scoring, at the end there were three red cards shown with Theo Hernandez, Denzel Dumfries and Davide Calabria were the players to get booked.

Mike Maignan-6

Decent performance from the keeper made two good saves but could not have done much of the two goals he conceded. 

Davide Calabria-4

He was good attacking wise, should have done much better in the back line as he was caught out of position and struggled against the pace of Thuram ended up getting a red card at the last minute of the game for swinging his arm and hitting Mkhitaryan on the face during a corner. 

Theo Hernandez-4

Poor performance according to his standards, he failed to deliver in the attacking third and defensive part as well. Saw a red in the 93rd minute of the game for heated fight with Dumfries in the game as they grabbed each other neck and collars during the fight. 

Fikayo Tomori-5.5

He was horrible at the back as he failed to control the centre half of his side. He restored his mistakes slightly with his goal on the other end in the dying minutes of the game. 

Matteo Gabbia-6

Gabbia seems much more calm and composed on certain ocassions. He appeared a little shaky at times on the counter, but he made no big mistakes.

Tijjani Reijnders-4

He was off in the midfield could not control the game and failed to track back on the counters of Inter and was changed after the first half. 

Yunus Musah-5.5

He was excellent in the right hand side created some chances for the side and made some good runs inside the box, but could not deliver the final balls inside the box. 

Yacine Adli-6.5

Adili had some excellent touches in the middle of the park and did his best to help the attack in the game, but outperformed by his opponents.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek-4

The former Chelsea man failed to deliver yet again on the night as he could not find any free space to run into the defence of Inter. 

Christian Pulisic-4

Tried his best by creating some chances lacked with the delivery of the final ball and pass inside the box. He failed to deliver infront of the goal as was well marked by Inter backline. 

Rafael Leao-6

The Portuguese winger was good in the night failed to end with the final pass and score goals came close of scoring one in the first half, should have done better with the chances he got.

Chukwueze tried creating some chances since coming on was good with the ball in the middle of the park and delivered the final ball for the one goal of the side.

Did not have much to do except for the one save he made in 40th minute of the first half, failed to keep a clean sheet otherwise comanding performance. 

Alessandro Bastoni-7

Rock solid at the back and did not leave any space in the defensive half for the side dealt well with the ariel balls as well. 

Francesco Acerbi-7.5

The central defender broke the deadlock after meeting with his head inside the six yard box and scoring against his former team. 

Benjamin Pavard-8

Excellent display throughout the game as the French centre back as excellent in the backline and made some good clearances and assisted the first goal as well. 

Matteo Darmian-7

He was overshadowed with the performances of his partners, but still did his part at both ends of the field and was overall decent in the game. 

Federico Dimarco-8

Typical wing-back performance from Dimarco as he made some threating runs at the other end of the pitch and was solid with his defensive duties as well. 

Nicolo Barella-9

Controlled the tempo of the game made some good transition with the ball in the counter attacks did his defensive work beautifully, overall was best in the middle of the park. 

Henrikh Mkhitaryan-7.5

The former Arsenal man had a sweet time in the game as he had good display in the middle of the park and made some good runs inside the box as well.  

Hakan Calhanoglu-7.5

The former AC Milan footballer had a chance to score the second goal in the first half after his powerful volley ended up hitting straight to Maignan, but failed he was amazing all the game. 

Marcus Thuram-8.5

Marcus Thuram was brilliant all through the game as the striker was always a threat in the AC Milan box, the only thing he was missing was finishing in the first half which he did in the second by adding the insurance goal in the 49th minute.  

Lautaro Martinez-7

Martinez was outperformed by his striking partner, but he still did a decent job, should have scored from the six yard otherwise a decent performance from the Argentine star.
