UEFA Europa League 2023-24 Match Ratings: AS Roma vs AC Milan quarter-final 2nd leg

Paulo Dybala scored the second for the match and almost sealing the game. Celik's red card gave some pressure on the 10 man team but Milan failed to score untill 85 minutes when Matteo Gabbia pulled one back.

AS Roma faced off AC Milan in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals. The home side had a slender lead of 1-0 in the first leg, but they started better of Milan and scored in the 12th minute after Gianluca Mancini putting his side ahead once more. Then they piled on the pressure after Paulo Dybala scored the second for the match and almost sealing the game. Celik's red card gave some pressure on the 10 man team but Milan failed to score untill 85 minutes when Matteo Gabbia pulled one back.

Mile Svilar-6

Was not tested much and he only had to make a handful of saves but should have reacted to his instinct after the header of Gabbia, when he conceded one in the 85th minute. 

Mehmet Zeki Celik-3

Celik was doing good in the defence till the time he was there but a rash tackle from behind to Rafael Leao that earned him a red card on the night. 

Chris Smalling-7.5

Was rock solid at the back as he did not let Olivier Giroud free space in the full game had a solid defensive display. 

Gianluca Mancini-8.5

The difference maker for the first game yet again put a amazing performance for the side as he went in unmarked to break the deadlock on the night and was brilliant with his defensive duties as well.

Leonardo Spinazzola-7

The full back was upto the task for the match as he did not let Pulisic play down the wing and had a good time marking him at the left side of the pitch gave some good crosses as well, during the attacks. 

Edoardo Bove-7.5 

The kid gave his heart on the pitch as Roma fought with a man down, but was repeatedly outpaced by Milan attackers, particularly in the first half but he was brilliant in the second half of the game. 

Leandro Paredes-7

With a man down the Argentine was rock solid in the middle of the park doing his defensive duties and destroying the attacks of the away side. 

Lorenzo Pellegrini-7.5

His ball control and precise distribution helped Roma maintain long periods of possession despite being reduced to 10 men.

Paulo Dybala-5.5

Dybala was the best player for the side till the time he was substituted as he scored the 2nd goal of the match and made it 3-0 on aggregate but was taken off two minutes before the first half and brought on a defender. 

Romelu Lukaku-4

Lukaku was looking good in the pitch as he set up the second goal for the side but he was replaced in the 28th minute after the Belgian felt discomfort in his legs. 

Stephan El Shaarawy-6.5 

He was brilliant in the counter attacks for the side and showed good intent with the ball and created problems for the Milan defence.

He conceded the two goals, but for the first one he could not have done anything. For the second should have saved the curling inswing from Dybala.

Had a tough time against Lukaku who had a always had the better of the full back and he stumbled after being physically involved with the forward leading him to assist for the second goal.

He pulled one back for the side in the dying moments and had a good time after Lukaku and Dybala was taken off with Tammy Abraham did not do much damage to him. 

Fikayo Tomori-5.5

Tomori failed to catch unmarked run of Mancini who scored after the ball hit the cross bar. The English centre back also did not close down Dybala's shoot that ended up in the net.  

Theo Hernandez-5

The French full back was not upto the mark and he failed to create any impact in the game and got a yellow card out of frustration.  

Ismael Bennacer-4

Was never in the game as he failed to get the control of the midfield and neither dictate the game. He was taken off for an attacking option. 

Yunus Musah- 4.5 

Musah did not control the midfield and lost balls in the middle of the park and failed to control the game as well. 

Christian Pulisic-4.5

The American was silent throughout the game had not have much impact on a 10 men side failed to create chances in the wide areas 

Ruben Loftus-Cheek-4

Another disappointing performance for the former Chelsea man as he was never involved in the game and was taken off ahead of the second half. 

Rafael Leao-7

He was brilliant down the wing and created a lot of chances for the side but the final end product was missing but he delivered one assist in the dying minutes of the game. 

Olivier Giroud-3.5

Another poor display from the French striker as he failed to score in the game and could not have created much chances for the side as well.
