Bayer Leverkusen, has been in amazing form in the ongoing season as they ended Bayern Munich's 11 years Bundesliga by winning their first title in the 120 years of club history. But the fact that they have been in the headlines because of their 48 unbeaten run in the season across all competition. They faced AS Roma in the semi-final of the second leg of UEFA Europa League. The German side having won the first leg 2-0 was high on confidence, they had several chances but was denied by Mile Svilar, and the visitors after soaking up the pressure was awarded with a penalty after Jonathan Tah brought down Sardar Azmoun inside the box with Leandro Paredes breaking the deadlock in the 43rd minute making it 2-1 on aggregate.

In the second half the home side started piling on the pressure and against the run of play the visitors were awarded for another penalty and Paredes did not make any mistake to score. The home side kept on the pressure and after a goalkeeping howler Roberto Mancini scored an own goal. Making 3-2 on aggregate for the home side. Yet again the home side scored in the last minute making it 2-2 on the night to take their unbeaten run to 49 games.

Matej Kovar-6.5

Matej Kovar was not tested much in the game, he was not at fault for the both the goals he conceded from the penalty spot.

The best man in the defence for the side he made some good blocks and acrobatic clearances for the side and made some crucial interceptions.

The captain was not at his best on the night struggled against Romelu Lukaku a bit conceded a penalty as well for the side.

The left-centre back was decent on the night as he struggled against the pace of Nicola Zalewski in the wider positions and was beaten most of the times by the winger

Jeremie Frimpong-7

Was brilliant down the wings as he went past Angelino many time but could not deliver the final ball for the striker and also himself failed to capitalise on the chances. 

Exequiel Palacios-7

The Argentine was good in the midfield controlled the game alongside Xhaka and linked up well with the defenders and the attackers for the transition of the game. 

Granit Xhaka-7.5

The former Arsenal midfielder controlled the whole game as he delivered the balls to the wings and tried creating chances for the side. Assisted the second goal of the match as he never lost his composure despite 2-0 down in the game.

Alex Grimaldo-7

The wing back was good down the flanks and created problems for Mancini and Stephan El Shaarawy however failed to deliver the crosses for the striker and neither put his name on the score sheet. 

Jonas Hofmann-6.5

Hofmann tried his best to put his name on the score sheet but failed and was denied the goalkeeper, orelse his shots were blocked made good runs in the wider areas as well. 

Adam Hlozek-6.5

The forward had the chances of scoring but he failed to capitalise on the chances, he was at fault for the second goal of the game as he handled the ball inside the box awarding the second penalty of the game. 

Amine Adli-7

Was good on the night he did everything possible but could not find the back of the net, made runs behind the defeders and created problems as well.

He was excellent on the night as the keeper denied some genuine goal scoring opportunity in the game. However made a howler for the first goal as he misjudged the corner which ended up hitting Mancini and went at the back of the net. Could not have done much about the second one he conceded.

He will be furious with himself did not fumble despite the pressure of the German side, he was good in the back line but scored an own goal for the side.

The centre back was decent on the night as he could not have done much about the both goals and made some decent blocks and did interceptions in the game.

Angelino-5

The defender had some good battles Frimpong as he did was not good at the attacking third of the game. As his traditional overlapping was not seen due to much pressure on the defensive half. 

Leonardo Spinazzola-3

The full back was decent on the night although he could not continue in the game as he was forced off in the first half.

He had a poor outing in the midfield often caught out of position during the attacks of the German side and could not deliver the control in the middle of the park. 

Leandro Paredes-7.5

The Argentine was not seen much with the ball did his defensive duities decently and scored a brace from the penalty spot. Overall had a decent game. 

Lorenzo Pellegrini-5.5

The skipper was not at his very best in the game could not have the control of the midfield and lost balls in the middle of the park. 

Stephan El Shaarawy-3.5

The Italian was never in the game was beaten on pace by Alex Grimaldo and Hlozek and could not contribute much in the attacking half as well. 

Sardar Azmoun-6

The forward was very much involved in the game as he made some runs behind the Leverkusen defenders and earned the first penalty for the game as well. 

Romelu Lukaku-4.5

The Belgian was decent on the night had an early chance to put his side ahead in the game but he failed to capitalise the 1v1 encounter and missed it otherwise did not give trouble to the German club's defenders.
