The semi-final is again the rematch of last year’s UEFA Europa League semi-final where AS Roma coached by Jose Mourinho defeated them to reach in final.
'I haven’t seen it' - Daniele De Rossi coach of AS Roma
As per ONEFOOTBALL, during an interaction with TNT Sports Xabi Alonso stated that, “In many games we build our control of possession. We know that sometimes it takes longer but if we continue to do things well and are patient, sooner or later our opportunity will come.” “This happens in the Bundesliga but also in the Europa League, and it also happened in today’s match. It will be a difficult challenge against Roma, we know it.”
In a post-match press conference, Daniele De Rossi coach of AS Roma was asked about how Bayer Leverkusen celebrated knowing they would meet Roma in the semi-finals, and he reacted as follows.
According to Sempermilan, he stated that “I haven’t seen it. I wouldn’t like to comment, maybe it’s just a sense of revenge because they went out against us last year. Xabi Alonso has always been a gentleman as a footballer and I think he is even today. I still have great respect for him.”
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen are on a 44-match winning streak across all tournaments this season and are competing for a treble.
