Ben Shelton becomes number 1 American player in ATP rankings

The Tennis world has had its fair share of american Tennis legends who have really iconic during their careers. Even today we are getting to see some really young and talented players such as Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul in the pecking order. These are players who are taking the game of tennis to huge heights and have aspirations of going all the way to the top. These are the people who are keeping the American tennis legacy alive even today.

Apart from these two talented individuals there is another player that is coming in this competition in a big way and he is the American young sensation Ben Shelton. The youngster has achieved some big things already in his short career as  he already has two ATP singles to his name and has made it to the semi finals of the US Open and the quarter finals of Australian Open just a year ago where he beat higher seeded players like Jarry and Popyrin as well.

Ben Shelton becomes number 1 American

Ben Shelton has been having one of his best seasons so far where he also went onto win his second ATP title at Houston as well. this is also the season where the 21-year-old prodigy also made it into the top 20 as well. But that was still not enough for Shelton as he went onto also become the no1 American surpassin Taylor Fritz in the rankings. With this he became the youngest player to achieve this feat beating the record of Andy Roddick in 2004.

These are great achievements for any young player who is also very early into his proffessional career. It will be interesting to see how far Shelton will go this season and how much will he achieve. He is right now having the best couple of seasons that anybody can ever have and we hope to see him keep performing the way he is. There is still a long journey ahead of Shelton and we all want him to break records like these going forward.
