It has been a long time since we saw both the Spanish champions play in a tournament and we have finally got to see that in the current Madrid Open 2024. Rafael Nadal has been known to be the master of Tennis in Spain and is one of the living legends of the game. However his 20-year-old counterpart is not far away as Carlos Alcaraz has already achieved so much in the game at such a young age. These two are the ones who have become the pioneers of tennis so far.

Both Nadal and Alcaraz have gone through their first game in great fashion and will be looking to make it as far as possible this season. For Nadal it is his quest to win his 6th title and for Carlos Alcaraz it is his chance to be the first player to complete a three peat in Madrid Open as he has won consecutively in 2022 and 2023. This is also the moment for them to make an epic return in the clay season.

Carlos talks about potential Olympic doubles with Nadal

Carlos Alcaraz had dominated Shevchenko in the 2nd round to go forward in the competition. This was a really good victory for Alcaraz on his comeback. During an interview after the game the Spaniard was asked about his potential doubles with Nadal in the Olympics. This would be a great duo of master and protege in one of the world's biggest sporting events. Alcaraz has said that there was not a lot of talk of it recently since Rafael Nadal was training and he was concentrating on his game. However Alcaraz has not singled it out and said when everything will go to plan they will be doing it.

If we ever see two of the most popular players in Spain playing together then it is going to be a big moment for every tennis fan. The two are also among the best players on clay as well and since the games will be held at Paris, this duo could be unstoppable together. It might not be confirmed, but it will surely be a great thing to witness if two top ranked clay masters will come together and compete in the doubles category.
