The Madrid Open is currently going on with the qualifiers now. It is time for the main draw now. We are very close to seeing our favourite tennis stars compete in the tournament. The day is not far when we will see our top-ranked players in action during this iconic ATP Masters 1000. Out of the big players, it is time to talk about the defending champion who will finally be making his return after injury.

This will finally be the moment this season when we get to see Carlos Alcaraz on clay. The talented Spaniard had taken a long break after the Miami Open due to injury but will be back to defend his Madrid crown which he has held for two consecutive years. This will also be the perfect homecoming for the 20-year-old world number 3 ranked ATP player. We hope that Alcaraz announces himself on the big stage and looks to defend his crown.

Alcaraz aims for three-peat

Since Alcaraz has gone on to win the title in the last two seasons there is a chance that he can do it for the 3rd consecutive time. He will also be the first player in the tournament to complete this feat. What will be special for the two-time Grand Slam Champion is that the day of the finals is going to be his 21st birthday as well. It would be special for Alcaraz to achieve this on the special day. The Spaniard on achieving this feat said, “I hope to make it.”

These are great aspirations from Alcaraz going into the tournament even after coming back from a serious injury. This will really be the biggest achievement for him in the current ATP tour going on. Alcaraz will not only be celebrating his special day but also another big ATP victory which he will be cherishing. We hope that he will still be at his best and beat the competition again.
