Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has recently opened up about his participation in the French Open on April 24 and has given fresh updates on why he can leave or skip the tournament. Notably, the star player is currently set to play at the Madrid Open, as he will face Darwin Blanch in the first round of the Madrid Masters.

However, Nadal revealed that his senses are not perfect at the moment, and he would have skipped the Madrid Open as well, but his strong emotions have held him back from staying and playing. The great player is unsure whether he will be able to play or not, as he is fighting and battling with his health. Meanwhile, Nadal said he is uncertain about the  French Open and might miss the marquee event.

“The sensations haven't been perfect this week. If it wasn't Madrid, maybe I wouldn't play. But there are a lot of emotions involved. I don't know what's going to happen in the following three weeks. I'll keep fighting and doing the things that I think I need to do to play in Paris. And if it's possible, then it's possible. If not, then not. I'm not going to play in Paris the way I'm feeling today. If it was Paris, I wouldn't be playing," Nadal said.

Meanwhile, the legendary player has also talked about the ongoing Madrid Open, where he revealed that his current focus is on being positive and giving his best at the French Open. In addition, Nadal also talks about not losing hope in a difficult situation, which allowed him to compete in a great way

"Hopefully I can play without limitations. Then we’ll see what happens. If I play without limitations, even if I lose, then it will be positive. The goal is to be on the court.  Enjoy as long as possible. I mean, that’s the thing. Try to finish the tournament alive in terms of body issues," he added further.
