Taylor Fritz reaches Munich Open semi finals after winning intense quarter final game vs Jack Draper

The clay season has been going on in full flow this ATP tour and there have been some great matches in the ongoing Munich Open knockouts as well, The likes of Holger Rune and Alexander Zverev have already made the knockout looking for their first clay title of the season. It is time for these players to get into the mix and look and make sure they get their hands on the trophy to get something out of this clay season.

Though everyone would be looking forward to these top-ranked players, the match between upcoming talents Taylor Fritz and Jack Draper was set up to be a cracker as well. Fritz has already impressed us with his performances but will want to come back after losing his number 1 American ranking. On the other hand, Jack Draper is one of the upcoming talents in the tournament who has been impressive this season as well.  This was the perfect USA and UK clash everyone was looking forward to.

The game already started in the most surprising fashion where Draper managed to win the first set by winning 6 games to 4 putting Fritz under pressure straight away. Fritz finally came back in the second set winning 6 games to 3 and setting up another intense clash in the quarter-finals. This was a do-or-die moment for both the players in the match. It was a really gruelling last set where both the players were fighting for a big semi-final spot. The set was eventually decided on a tie-breaker which was dominated by Fritz with a score of 7-1.

This was one of the best games in the Munich Open so far where two young prodigies were going neck in neck. This was a great performance by both Fritz and Draper who were giving it their all to make it to the semi-finals of the ATP tournament. In the end, it was Fritz who took the victory and made sure that he won the all-important game and kept his Clay season hopes alive.
