Trick Williams ends unprecedented run of Ilja Dragunov as NXT Champion

Trick Williams beat Ilja Dragunov to win the NXT Championship. In the main event of NXT Spring Breakin, Trick overcame the odds and ended the incredible title reign of Dragunov which lasted for 207 days. Right from the word go, the match had the intensity. Both wrestlers exchanged super kicks and chops. The crowd was invested in the match and favoured Trick a bit.

Trick delivered a DDT and put Ilja under pressure. The 'Czar of NXT' came back and delivered a powerbomb. The duo shared punches. After suffering a blow early in the match, Ilja marked his domination and claimed the ring to be his. Just when the champion seemed to have the upper hand, Williams soon came with an equalizer to nullify the advantage.

The crowd started to chant 'Whoop that Trick' as their favourite was pumped up. He executed the opposite moves of Ilja Dragunov and had the crowd on its feet. Williams delivered a powerbomb and followed it up with Peter Moscow. Ilja kicked out at 2 as Trick tried to pin him. Ilja soon returned to the match and delivered multiple super kicks. The crowd reacted with chants of 'This is awesome'. 

Trick Williams claims his maiden NXT Championship

Ilja tried to put Trick Williams under pressure and cleaned the furniture. It was Trick who took advantage of it as he delivered a rock bottom from the barricade through the table. Just when things seemed to go in Trick's favour, the Mad Dragon showed why he is one of the best in the business. He delivered two H bombs from the apron and tried to pin Trick.

But a determined Williams kicked out on two in both instances. A frustrated Dragunov was enraged at Trick and tried to end the match. But Williams came back with his knee on the back of Ilja. Trick finally delivered his finisher and pinned Dragunov to claim an impressive win. As the crowd celebrated the win of their favourite, an emotional Dragunov handed over the title with a special message.
