Trick Williams throws a challenge to IIja Dragunov for NXT title, agrees to leave NXT if loses

WWE is a powerhouse of entertainment and thereby now and then new challenges are thrown and accepted in the competition which keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. In one such instance, WWE star Truck Williams challenged IIja Dragunov for the WWE NXT Championship title on the eve of the Spring Breakin’ edition of the show on April 23. 

The announcement of the challenge was made public on Tuesday’s episode of the WWE NXT that the fight for the NXT title will take place between challenger Williams and champion Dragunov on the Spring Breakin’ edition on April 23. 

Why did Dragunov accept the challenge?

After registering a thumping victory over Carmelo Hayes in Saturday’s main event of Stand & Deliver PLE, William who was searing with confidence expressed his desire to get more opportunity to lay his hands on the NXT title and therefore challenged Dragunov to put his title at stake. 

Dragunov who hesitated initially eventually agreed to the challenge on the condition that Williams would leave NXT if he lost to which he agreed.

 

Schedule for the Spring Breakin’ event 

In the closing segment of Tuesday’s show, Carmelo Haynes entered the ring with Williams and Dragunov and laid both of them down. He also challenged Trick Williams for a steel cage match in the next week NXT’s show. 

The Spring Breakin’ will be a two-night event this year and will be held on Tuesdays 23 and 30th April. While no matches have been announced till today for the Spring Breakin’ event, an Oba Femi vs Ivar North American title match is on the cards for one of the two nights of the event which will be followed by Ivar's appearance. In addition to it, an AOP vs Nathan Frazer and Axiom NXT tag title match could also very much take place.
