Rohan Mustafa, the veteran cricketer from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was involved in a hilarious incident during the ongoing edition of the T10 League at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The 32-year-old from Kohat found himself in all sorts of tangle while playing for Team Abu Dhabi in their match against Northern Warriors on Monday, February 1.
In a video doing the rounds on social media, Mustafa was seen shirtless, pretty much suggesting that he was changing his jersey. Even as he was struggling with himself, the ball went to the boundary for a four for the opposition. Nicholas Pooran, the Warriors’ skipper, was also seen laughing his belly out while sitting in the dugout.
Rohan Mustafa speaks up
After all the talks, Mustafa has opened on the matter. He stated that he was trying to change his sweater and in a bid to do so, his shirt got stuck. He said that the umpires are cautious due to tough COVID-19 rules. The all-rounder also apologised to his team for letting them down.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “I was not changing jersey.@Saj_PakPassion I was removing my sweater and shirt got stuck in it as I was bowling next over and umpire doesn’t take anything from bowler because of Covid rules…still apologize my @TeamADCricket for letting them down !!”

Mustafa hasn’t had a lot to do in the tournament until now. From four matches, he only has two wickets. Also, he has gotten only one chance to bat against the Decca Gladiators where he scored five runs. However, the fact that he’s an effective cricket can’t be denied.
As far as the game was concerned, it went right down to the wire. Team Abu Dhabi smashed 123 runs in their 10 overs. Joe Clarke’s unbeaten 24-ball 50 guided his team to the massive score. Luke Wright and Ben Duckett also played cameos.
In the run-chase, Waseem Muhammad’s 34-ball 76 laid the platform for the Warriors. His knock was laced with seven fours and six sixes. He got the apt support from Lendl Simmons, who scored 37 runs off 25 balls with four fours and two sixes.
