Melbourne Renegades signed off BBL 2020-21 with a thrilling win against the Hobart Hurricanes who ended up losing their playoff berth. Renegades lost four wickets for 56 runs on the board at halfway stage but contributions coming from Beau Webster (54* off 37) and McKenzie Harvey (40 off 37) helped them to 150/5. Hurricanes secured the bash boost point as they scored 69 runs for the loss of two wickets after 10 overs. But the dismissal of D’Arcy Short in the 11th over changed the game to Renegades’ favour as the Hurricanes made only 139/9.

Webster scored an unbeaten 67 in the 2016-17 season at No.7 position for Hurricanes against Strikers and smashed 50* earlier this season at No.6 position against Brisbane Heat. His 54* on Tuesday against the Renegades also came while batting at No.6 spot.
54* – The unbeaten 54 by Beau Webster during REN vs HUR game is now the highest individual score at No.6 or a lower position for the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL. Webster surpassed Cameron Boyce’s 51* which came while batting at No.8 against Sydney Thunder in 2016-17 season.
94.44 – Dawid Malan had a strike rate of 94.44 during his 34-run knock on Tuesday which came off 36 balls. This is the 2nd slowest 30+ innings in the BBL for Hobart Hurricanes behind Ben McDermott’s 35-ball 31 against Melbourne Stars earlier this season at a strike rate of 88.57 only.

17 – Number of wickets for Peter Hatzoglou in the BBL 2020-21; the most by any spin bowler for the Melbourne Renegades in an edition of BBL surpassing Cameron Boyce’s tally of 16 wickets in the 2018-19 season.
