Australia all-rounder Cameron Green was hit on the head by Jasprit Bumrah on Friday in the ongoing day-night warm-up game between Australia A and India in Sydney. Green immediately walked off the field and has now been substituted out of the entire game after suffering from concussion. The concerns for Australia increase now ahead of the first of the four-match Test series starting from December 17.
The incident took place when Cameron Green was delivering his seventh over of the day. Jasprit Bumrah hit a back of a length delivery straight to him. He was in his bowling follow through even as the bowler tried to evade the ball but it ended up hitting him on the head.
Traumatic blow to the head for Aussie Test hopeful Cameron Green while bowling. Has left the field, thankfully seemed alert/OK but will go through concussion assessment & likely checked for any possibility of facial fracture. Hope he’s OK pic.twitter.com/aPrHPAXomL

Green soon was down on the ground grinning in pain even as the physio walked out to have a look at him. Eventually, he had to go off the field and according to cricket.com.au, he has now been replaced by Pat Rowe as the concussion substitute.

Cameron Green had bowled well until then picking up a wicket of Shubman Gill in 6.1 over conceding only 20 runs. Even in the previous practice game against a relatively weaker Indian side, the lanky all-rounder had slammed an unbeaten 125 in the first innings. He had then also picked two wickets in the second innings. The concussion possibly rules him out of the first Test now and the official confirmation is likely to come soon from Cricket Australia.
Will Pucovski and Ravindra Jadeja also suffered from concussion
Cameron Green is the third player to suffer from concussion in the last few days. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was hit on the helmet by a bouncer from Mitchell Starc during the first T20I against Australia last week. He was replaced by Yuzvendra Chahal which had caused a lot of brouhaha but eventually things settled down. With the concussio protocols in place, Jadeja has now been ruled out of the first Test.
In the previous practice game, Kartik Tyagi’s bouncer hit Will Pucovski on the helmet and he soon walked off the field. With mild concussion, even he is doubtful for the series opener against India.
