India is up against Australia for the fourth Test in Brisbane, where they are struggling big time with their injury concerns. To retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy, India will need to either win or draw the match at Gabba. India played some class and fearless brand of Test cricket at SCG, and in the same light, former English player Kevin Pietersen feels that visitors can repeat the same act.
Pietersen believes that India can win the Test at Brisbane if they show the same determination as that of the last Test. India’s worries got worst when star bowlers Ravi Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah had to miss out on the playing squad owing to their injuries. However, Peitersen still reckons that guests have put themselves in a great position to fetch something special.
The Best way for India to shut Australia up is to beat them: Kevin Pitersen
“I saw plenty of people predicting 4-0 to Australia at the beginning of the series, particularly with Virat Kohli only playing in the first match, but India have put themselves in a position to secure a famous series win. The best way for India to shut Australia up is to beat them. We did that on a couple of occasions, and it’s quite extraordinary how quickly the media turn on their own players when they start to lose,” wrote Pietersen for Betway.
The England commentator also stated that Tim Paine and company are already in a spot of bother after India’s great display at SCG in the last game. The wicket is a bouncy track, and it will suit Aussies’ pace attack, but India still has a great chance, feels Pietersen. He also added his comment on Paine’s nasty comments on Ravi Ashwin in the last game.
“If Tim Paine gets himself into another confrontation in the fourth Test, he will go again – regardless of what he says in between Test matches. It is in his and his team’s DNA, so you have to deal with it,” concluded Pietersen.
Australia is currently batting with its five wickets down at 228 runs (at the point of writing), and it will be a thing to see how the sides turn out the game in their favour.
