Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, on Tuesday, announced a three-week lockdown due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. This was a difficult but necessary step taken by the government in order to save the lives of people and break the transmission of the Coronavirus. Soon after the announcement, the cricketing fraternity turned to social media supporting the PM. And former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was also one of them.
Earlier, Narendra Modi had announced a 14-hour curfew in the country for March 22. He had also shared guidelines and precautions that the citizens should take in order to combat the virus. However, the things have gone from bad to worse and he felt the need for a 21-day lockdown in the country.
Coronavirus has not only affected India but the whole world. Every country is suffering from the adverse effects of the killer virus. And, taking a look at the broader picture, the step taken by India’s Prime Minister looked relevant as far as the security of the people is concerned.
Kevin Pietersen comes up with yet another tweet in Hindi
Kevin Pietersen has been quite proactive on social media these days. After the Narendra Modi addressed the nation, he came out with a heartwarming post for every citizen in the country. He took to his Twitter handle and shared a post saying that India looks quite similar to his country at the moment.
He mentioned that it is the duty of every citizen to follow the 21-day lockdown period and stay back at their homes. He also added that it is the time to join hands and fight against the Coronavirus and if they do it, the world will surely win the battle. In the end, he gave credits to his Hindi teacher and Indian domestic cricketer Sreevats Goswami.
The interesting thing about the post was that it was written in proper Hindi. This is not the first occasion that the former England player has come out with such type of post. Earlier, he had shared a Coronavirus awareness post on social media for the fans. He had credited Goswami for teaching Hindi in that tweet as well.
