Nepal’s all-rounder Sompal Kami is enjoying his lockdown with his wife Pratibha Ghimire. The couple had tied the knot after being in a relationship for four years in a temple in Kathmandu on January 30th. Both Sompal and Pratibha are confined to their houses in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
On August 21 (Friday), people of India and Nepal celebrated Hartalika Teej. This occasion was special for Sompal and Pratibha as it was their first Teej together after their marriage. The cricketer shared the pictures of himself and his better half on his official Twitter handle wishing all his fans and followers across the globe a very happy Teej.
In the pictures, Kami can be seen sporting jeans and t-shirt while his wife is looking beautiful in a red and golden saree. Sompal wrote, “Happy teej”

An insight into Sompal Kami’s cricket career
Kami is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler who plays for the national team of his country. Sompal made his entry to Kathmandu Region No. 3 through the Nepali Cricket Fan Club. He made a mark through his performance in the U19 National Championship and helped his team in winning the cup. He had an amazing tournament with both bat and ball as he smashed two centuries and registered brilliant bowling figures.
His cricketing abilities had impressed the Nepal cricket coach Pubudu Dassanayake which paved a way for his entry in the national squad. He was then selected for the Nepal National cricket team in the 2014 Cricket World Cup qualifier where he played 6 List A games and took eight wickets with a figure of 3/35. The all-rounder also shined in T20 World Cup 2014 as he scalped four wickets in three games.
In June 2019, he was selected to play for the Winnipeg Hawks franchise team in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. The cricketer played his last match in October 2019 against Onam.
In an international career of seven years, the 24-year-old has represented his country in 28 T20 Internationals scoring 198 runs with the bat and taking 26 wickets at an economy of 7.15.
