One of the biggest contributions of the Indian Premier League and franchise cricket, in particular, is it has considerably reduced the animosity between cricketers hailing from different nationalities. It had helped cricketers hailing from completely different backgrounds and opposite parts of the world to foster great camaraderie and in some cases, lifelong friendships
Another example of it had been truly visible in Melbourne in the past two days. Adelaide Strikers were in Melbourne this weekend for their Big Bash League encounter against the defending champions Melbourne Renegades. And, the champion leg-spinner Rashid Khan took some time out to visit the MCG. On Saturday, Khan caught up with his Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson, and their photo instantly went viral on social media.
On Sunday, Khan was at the ground where he was seen bowling with leg-spin legend Shane Warne. The duo spoke about their craft in the Lunch session, before the Adelaide Strikers’ spearhead proceeded to sign a few autographs where he caught up with another SRH teammate- the swashbuckling opener David Warner; a meeting that started on a rather hilarious note.
Warner was walking back to the dressing room when he saw Rashid signing autographs. Warner wasted no time in approaching Rashid, whom he playfully tried to hit with his bat.

Both Rashid Khan and David Warner ended up on a winning note on Sunday
It turned out to be a great day for both Rashid Khan and David Warner as their sides romped to comprehensive wins over Melbourne Renegades and New Zealand respectively.
The Boxing Day Test eventually turned out to be a damp squib as New Zealand’s miseries with the bat continued on day 04. Barring Tom Blundell, who scored his maiden Test hundred, none of the Kiwi batsmen including Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Tom Latham could post any substantial resistance to the Aussie bowling unit. Nathan Lyon claimed four wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 240 to hand the home side a comprehensive 247-run-win and an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the Trans-Tasman series.
As far as Rashid Khan is concerned, the champion leg-spinner had another great day in the office as his magnificent spell of 2/15 in four overs, turned to be the clincher for the Strikers by 18 runs. And, Khan was deservedly awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for his exploits.
