Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore with a comfortable chase at Abu Dhabi. It was a high voltage contest as both the teams wanted to grab the top spot on the points table. While the staring between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav grabbed the headlines, there were some words exchanged between Chris Morris and Hardik Pandya as well.
Now both Pandya and Morris have been reprimanded for breaching the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct. Their feud started in the 15th over with Morris tried to throw the ball at Hardik Pandya in his follow-through. Later they exchanged some words in the middle after Pandya was dismissed by the RCB all-rounder in the penultimate over.
After the match ended, IPL issued an official statement, “Chris Morris, the Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Abu Dhabi.”
It also stated: “Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Abu Dhabi.”
The statement said that Morris has admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.5 and Pandya has admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.

An easy win for Mumbai Indians to stay at the top of the table
Mumbai looked in brilliant form at Abu Dhabi as they dominated RCB. After RCB started their innings quite well, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a miraculous spell to restrict them at 164. The total was never going to be enough for an inform side like Mumbai and Suryakumar Yadav’s phenomenal knock took them home in the last over.
With this win, Mumbai won their eighth game of the tournament. They became the first side to earn 16 points in IPL 2020 and have almost ascertained their place in the playoffs. However, they would be looking to win their next two games as well to finish at the top two positions.
